Just when you think you've hit a dry spell and need to make the one good book you've got last longer, you come across reviews for two books that sound really great, and suddenly, you have way too much reading to do. Not a bad situation.
Currently reading: If on a winter's night a traveler (Calvino), which is a very self-conscious look at the process of reading fiction. Next up are the newest from Yann Martel (better known for Life of Pi) and Philip Pullman (a.k.a. the atheist's C.S. Lewis).
The current book is cool because it combines fiction and metafiction in an interesting way. The others interest me because Martel's work is about the Holocaust (I've been out of that job for two years, but still read a lot of Holocaust-related stuff), and because Pullman is always trying to do interesting things with religion from a non-religious point of view. We'll see if they live up to expectations :)
what's the one book and the two more? i'm always in need of a next book!
