Boyfriend and I had a birthday to go to last night in Oakland, and since we were venturing that far, we decided to get dinner beforehand. The first place we were thinking of going had no reservations, so we went to Plum, instead, which ended up being one of the best restaurants we've been to in the Bay Area. Between the two of us, we had seven dishes, and every single one was both interesting and well-executed, and the prices were a bargain. Looks like they change up their menu on an almost daily basis, too, so it would even be a place you could go to frequently without getting menu fatigue. Nothing to be improved upon, except that it would be nice if it were a little closer to home. I love finding a place that totally and unexpectedly exceeds expectations.
